2004 - Town and Country
Description: The intent of this 23'-0" by 15'-0" hardwood Orangery was to add a formal dining area in a little -used courtyard and to improve the traffic flow in the U-shaped house. Within the space itself the intent was to preserve the light of the courtyard space, but at the same time afford some protection to the owner's wall art and antiques.

With a 3'-0" wide flat roof perimeter, the interior soffit detail provided
an excellent location for down lights to wash the adjacent walls. Town &
Country also proposed a flat roof centre section to provide additional sun
control and a convenient location for additional lighting and discrete
On the exterior, pilaster detailing suited the elegance of the French
mansard roof and unadorned brickwork. Copper lining of the Orangery box
gutters provided a subtle accent to the top of the ornate timber cornice
detail. The frequent use of copper is a distinct difference between Town &
Country's U.S. and UK projects, because lead, the more common UK roofing
material is banned in many areas of the United States.
Project Location: Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

2004 - Classy Exteriors Ltd
Description: This was a complete refurbishment of an existing brick with steel and glass 50's style conservatory in Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. Classy Exteriors kept the original base work and completely redesigned the windows and roof with uPVC REHAU Tritec frames and a 32mm OPAL Polycarbonate Ultraframe Roof. The inside was also redesigned - Classy Exteriors added a partition and raised part of the floor so that it was all on the same level. The entire inside was completely re-plastered. The biggest obstacle was changing the existing steel and glass lean to roof into the magnificent gable fronted structure you see in the pictures.
