2005 - Oakfields
Joinery - Hardwood Conservatories
|

Description: Made
from a West African hardwood, this glass house shows
the scope that hardwood gives when designing a conservatory.
Located just outside Bury St Edmunds, this barn conversion
was in need of more space and light. It was decided
for the aesthetics of the barn to build a two-storey
unit. A steel portal frame was erected initially,
with the windows, doors and the roof of the conservatory
being built around the steel frame. For information
about hardwood conservatories, windows or doors,
please telephone 0800 028 6192 and ask for Ron Spence. Trade
enquiries welcome.

Description: A
cream painted hardwood conservatory with Pilkington
K Glass double-glazed sealed units throughout.

their height). The front was made with concertina
type folding doors that allowed the conservatory
to open up completely to the patio. As the conservatory
and patio where sunk from the main garden special
attention to damp-roofing the conservatory external
walls was required
